In 2013 I took a month long road trip from Idaho and drove throughout the Pacific Northwest (featuring the cities of Portland, Seattle, and Bellingham) and up into British Columbia Canada (Vancouver).
At each stop I was hosted by Artists and Art Ministers who were connecting through creativity in unique ways outside of the walls of formalized churches and into the heart of the cities and communities they were a part of.
In Portland I enjoyed collaborative studio time with professional artists and live painters. And I toured art galleries and an outdoor art market held within the city.
In Seattle I had conversations with writers and painters about their forms of art. And I visited art galleries and museums to view work of the Masters and an outdoor Art Park.
In Bellingham I did collaborative painting with an artist and musician that I had formerly mentored. I also toured professional artist studios within the city and conversed with them about their various art making creative processes.
In Vancouver I met with a group of creatives that published books featuring professional artists throughout the city to have a conversation about how they are ministering to those artists by encouraging and supporting them. And I met with an Art Minister who was versed in First Nations Art that took me to a heritage museum.
